RESUMEN: Al contrario que en otros momentos históricos, uno de los rasgos principales de la literatura nigeriana más reciente es que, en muchos casos, está escrita por mujeres. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie es, sin duda, una de las nuevas voces que, en los últimos años, han ido emergiendo con fuerza en al ámbito de la literatura africana. Tanto su modo de entender los feminismos africanos como su interés por redibujar las imágenes preconcebidas sobre África y los africanos que, por lo general, existen en Occidente, han marcado enormemente sus obras literarias. Desde su primera novela, Purple Hibiscus (La flor púrpura), pasando por la segunda, Half of a Yellow Sun (Medio sol amarillo), hasta su colección de historias cortas, The Thing around Your Neck (Algo alrededor de tu cuello), y su obra más reciente, Americanah, Adichie ofrece múltiples y variadas representaciones sobre qué implica ser una mujer africana en el siglo XXI. ABSTRACT: Contrary to what has been the case in other historical moments, one of the main features of recent Nigerian literature is that, in many instances, it is written by women. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has undoubtedly become one of the new voices that, in the last few years, have strongly emerged on the African literary scene. Her understanding of African feminisms as well as her interest in redrawing the images of Africa and Africans that are often prevalent in the West have greatly influenced her writing. In her works, which include her collection of short stories, The Thing around Your Neck, and her three novels, Purple Hibiscus, Half of a Yellow Sun and Americanah, Adichie offers multiple and diverse representations of what it means to be an African woman in the 21st century.
