Abstract
Four poems selected from the author's A Year in the Life of an Unemployed Poet, reflect various aspects of the therapeutic experience, in particular what is (and is not) revealed by the client as well as the therapist. Sometimes, it is only poetry that can best convey the deepest (and many times darkest) feelings that arise through the transference and countertransference elicited in therapy, especially a therapy that has lasted over a lifetime.
