Abstract

Analytical skills, numeracy, and mathematical understanding are skills highly sought after by employers. Hence, it is crucial to develop these necessary skills to equip students for the future, but maths anxiety is common across disciplines and adversely affects skill development and performance. In the academic years 2022/23 and 2023/24, I implemented digital exit tickets in a first-year maths module at the University of Liverpool. The tickets have been designed to alleviate underlying drivers of maths anxiety, reduce attainment gaps, and to set a foundation for success. In this reflective account, I will share my experiences and academic practice administering digital exit tickets.
