Abstract

Em que medida a artemí­dia da América Latina é diferente da produzida no primeiro mundo? É necessário ter alta tecnologia para fazer artemí­dia? Qual é a ética que subjaz a estética dessa arte emergente? Estes são alguns aspectos contemplados nesta entrevista realizada com artistas e pesquisadores que exploram as relações da arte com a tecnologia e a ciência em diferentes paí­ses do mundo, entre eles, Claudia Gianetti (Mecad/Espanha), Monika Fleischmann (Mars/Alemanha), Silvia Laurentiz (PUC-SP/Brasil), Shuddhabrata Sengupta (Sarai/Ándia) e Eduardo Kac (The School of the Art Institute of Chicago). Eles falaram com Galáxia nos intervalos de suas apresentações em dois importantes eventos internacionais de artemí­dia realizados em São Paulo em 2002, o File (Festival Internacional de Linguagem Eletrônica) e o Emoção Art.ficial. <b>Palavras-chave</b> novas mí­dias, cibercultura, arte, ciência, tecnologia <b>Abstract</b> At what extent is media art in Latin America different from the one made in the First World? Is it necessary to have high technology to make media art? What are the ethics underneath the esthetics of this emerging form of art? These are some of the aspects contemplated in this interview made with artists and researchers that explore the connections between art, technology and science in different countries around the world. Some of them are: Claudia Gianetti (Mecad/Spain), Monika Fleischmann (Mars/ Germany), Silvia Laurentiz (PUC-SP/Brazil), Shuddhabrata Sengupta (Sarai/India) and Eduardo Kac (The School of the Art Institute of Chicago).
