Abstract

The prevalent tumors of the upper extremity that are difficult to diagnose and treat, and some of the relevant surgical procedures are addressed in this study. The tumors of the upper extremity are discussed in three regions: shoulder girdle, elbow-wrist, and hand. Sarcomatous lesions are highlighted among tumor samples. While the shoulder girdle is one of the most common sites of malign tumors, elbow-wrist and hands are not. Thus, due to less frequent malignity observed in these two regions, the risks of misdiagnosis and incorrect treatment increase. In this study, the anatomical region of related tumor addressed is determined according to its rate of prevalence, clinical significance, and frequent diagnose and treatment faults.
