This article understands the movie theaters as spatial forms, which are capable to create and recreate spaces. Furthermore, with a series of forms and processes, generating in different spatial arrangements. Face to this context, the aim is to analyze the spatial dynamics of the movie theaters in the suburbs of the city of Rio de Janeiro, during the 20th century, according to three periods 1905 – 1934, 1935 – 1984 e 1985 – 1994.
