The present work seeks to identify the determinants of the formation of new enterprises in business-to-business in Italy during the second half of the 1980s. Utilising data pertaining to the characteristics of business demographics in this sector, an econometric analysis is performed. The author critically examines the literature on the development of services for production in Italy. Then the data employed is presented and two groups of equations are used to interpret the determinants of the fertility and the birthrate for business services from 1987-90.
