Questo breve contributo nasce da un interrogativo che investe il rapporto tra la ricerca storico-artistica e il museo. Fissato un punto di osservazione sugli studi intorno al patrimonio artistico di un determinato periodo (l’Ottocento), in queste pagine si cercherà di riflettere sul modo in cui certa recente pratica museologica (2011-2013) ha tradotto il precipitato della ricerca storico-artistica e ci si interrogherà su alcune modalità attraverso le quali il museo declina oggi la sua azione di potenziale interlocutore tra la società e il mondo della storia dell’arte, analizzando i recenti ordinamenti di tre musei europei: il Rijksmuseum di Amsterdam, la Tate Britain di Londra, la Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna di Roma. This brief contribution aims to examine the relationship between the art-historical research and museum. In these pages we will try to reflect on the way in which certain recent museological practice (2011-2013) translated the results of contemporary art-historical research, fixing as observation point the studies on the artistic heritage of a particular period (the nineteenth century); we will question some of the ways in which the museum today provides its share of potential interlocutor between society and the world of art history, analyzing the recent diplays of three European museums: the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, the Tate Britain in London, the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna in Rome.
