Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh temuan kesulitan belajar siswa dalam belajar matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendiagnosis kesulitan belajar siswa dalam kemampuan pemecahan masalah berdasarkan prosedur Newman dan melaksanakan remedial teaching untuk mengatasi kesulitan belajar siswa. Pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Think Pair Share diajarkan kepada siswa untuk memberikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Subjek penelitian adalah sembilan siswa kelas X Mipa 1 di SMA Negeri 1 Petarukan yang diambil 3 siswa pada kelompok atas, tengah, dan bawah. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: 1) kebanyakan letak kesulitan belajar siswa adalah pada tahap memahami (comprehension) dan tranformasi. Untuk kesalahan process skill dan encoding terjadi karena siswa mengalami kesalahan pada tahap sebelumnya. Temuan faktor penyebab kesulitan belajar siswa yaitu 3 siswa mengalami kesulitan belajar bersifat fisiologis, 5 siswa bersifat  psikologis,  1  siswa  bersifat  pedagogis,  6  siswa  bersifat  sosiologis;  2) remedial teaching berhasil mengatasi kesulitan belajar sebanyak 8 dari 9 siswa atau 89% siswa. Sehingga dapat dikatakan remedial teaching efektif  dalam mengatasi kesulitan belajar. This research was motivated by findings of students' learning difficulties in learning mathematics. The purpose of this research was to diagnose students' learning difficulties in problem  solving  skill  based  Newman  procedures  and  implement  remedial  teaching  for eclipse students learning difficulties. Cooperative learning Think Pair Share was taught to students to give problem­solving skills. The subjects were nine students class of  X science 1 at SHS 1 Petarukan taken three students in the top group, middle, and bottom. The results of  this research are: 1) the most mistake of  student learning difficulty was at the stage of understanding (comprehension) and transformation. For process skill and encoding errors occur because students had an error in the previous stage. The factors causing of  students' learning difficulties were three students had learning difficulties were physiological, 5 students were psychological, one student was pedagogical, 6 students were sociological; 2) remedial  teaching  successfully  eclipse  learning  difficulties  8  of   9  students  or  89%  of students. So it can be said that remedial teaching effective to eclipse learning difficulties.
