Abstract
This paper considers in earnest the possibility that the true Nietzschean tragic spirit consists of humor, and not at all in the religious conformity with logos or destiny, as in Heraclitus or Sophocles. In an attempt to show and fix this point, we will focus on a brilliant text by the young Nietzsche, but in addition we will profit from some references to Schopenhauer, Dickens, Freud and Wittgenstein
