Abstract
This text refers to the original design that followed San Ignacio Factory in the town of Aguascalientes founded by Pierre Cornu, a wealthy Frenchman who settled in the State of Mexico, Guanajuato and Aguascalientes. The San Ignacio Factory was installed following the existing models at the time, which were in line with the progress dictated by the Industrial Revolution and its expansion in Mexico. Therefore, the study of San Ignacio is relevant to the local case, as it was the only factory in Aguascalientes that followed the Company Town model. Also this paper gives an outline of the growth and development of industry in Aguascalientes since the mid-nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century that propelled urban growth area.
