Abstract
Family in contemporary Mexico, Latin America and the world in general, has experienced the impact of strong social, cultural, economic and demographic changes that have led to the transformation of family patterns, and to the slow and deliberate conformation of a new and varied stage of family diversity. This work aims to show a depiction of the representation of family diversity in contemporary Mexico based on the review of a body of ten essential narrative works in Mexican literature.
