Abstract
The objective of this study is assess the popular subjects in the field of Human
ResourceManagementand the place, role and importance of the departments of HR in businesses on the basis of the journals of HRMalong with the journals of business and management published for business circle. The data set of the study is comprised of the essays on the subjects of HRMin their titles and contents between 2003 and 2012 in HRdergi and Capital journals. Bibliometric analysis was conducted in order to determine the trendy topics by years. According to the results of the study, it has been observed that behavioral processes, staffing and HR development topics are mentioned
in HRdergi, while in Capital journal, behavioral processes are increasingly mentioned.
In terms of the place, role and the importance of HR, it has been seen that there are essays emphasizing what the HR managers “should do” with such statements as the
“marketing” of HR and the “proving” the strategic partnership of HR to top management and to other departments.
