Abstract
Organizational commitment denotes a psychological connection between an individual and the organization, which includes a component of values, attitudes, and emotional component. We used Organizational Commitment Questionnaire (Allen & Mayer, 1991), which is based on a three-component model, including affective, continuance and normative commitment. The aim of the study was to investigate, whether one could speak of commitment to the faculty or study program in case of students. 554 students from three Slovenian faculties and 279 employees participated in the study. The results show that the students' commitment is lower than that of the employees. Commitment of the latter increases with years of service. Students who are satisfied with their faculties and evaluate their organizational climates as positive, feel higher commitment. Guidelines for further research are presented.
