Abstract

This paper describes and analyzes the organization of federal elections for deputies and president  of the Republic in 1920, and for deputies in 1922, in the constituencies of Mexico City (in this case, for the establishment of the 29th  and 30th  Legislatures of the Congress). Elections offer an exceptional viewpoint to assess the political activity of both political parties and groups of independent citizen voters. This examination shows the development of a process –unknown from a historiographical perspective– that starts with the definition  of candidates and ends with an evaluation by the Electoral College of the Chamber of deputies a month  after the elections.
