Abstract
The food processing sector faces increasing pressure to adopt sustainable practices while maintaining competitiveness. This study investigates the relationship between Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) practices and competitive advantage (CA) within the food processing industry, specifically examining the moderating role of environmental commitment (EC). A quantitative research approach was employed, collecting data from 285 managers and executives in food processing companies through a structured questionnaire. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was utilized to analyze the collected data. The findings indicate a significant positive relationship between the adoption of GSCM practices and the achievement of competitive advantage. Furthermore, the study reveals that environmental commitment significantly moderates this relationship, strengthening the positive impact of GSCM on competitive advantage. Companies with higher environmental commitment are better positioned to leverage their GSCM initiatives into distinct competitive benefits, such as enhanced brand image, cost reduction, and market differentiation. These results underscore the strategic importance of integrating robust GSCM practices with a strong organizational environmental commitment to foster sustainable competitive advantage in the dynamic food processing landscape. The study offers valuable theoretical contributions by extending the Natural Resource-Based View and practical implications for industry practitioners and policymakers.
