Abstract
This research study identified the factors that will affect the management of behaviors of Key Stage 1 students and their correlation with the profile characteristics of SPED teachers in selected schools within Division of Pangasinan II. This includes determining the respondents’ profile in terms of their age, sex, civil status, highest educational attainment, years of teaching experience, and training attended. Also, it measures the extent to which there is the application of behavioral management strategies in terms of setting rules with the students, employing positive language, stability of emotion, and serving as a role model for proper behavior. The findings showed that the majority of the respondents were female, aged 31-40 years old, married, and had degrees in BEED/BSEd with moderate teaching experience and limited exposure to training. The determinants in behavior management were all classified as “Always,” suggesting that there was consistent use of effective classroom management by the special education teachers. There was a statistically significant difference in behavior management based on the classification of age, civil status, teaching experience, and training related to their field, but not based on gender or educational background.
