Abstract
The rapid effects of climate change threaten teaching and learning, necessitating analysis and mitigation. Awareness and prevention are key strategies for meaningful and sustainable development in our changing climate. This study investigated the effects of climate change on teaching and learning in Zone 2, Schools Division of Zambales. A survey questionnaire was used to gather data from teacher-respondents, observing anonymity and informed consent. Findings indicated that teacher-respondents strongly agreed on the effects of climate change on teaching and learning, with a very high positive correlation between the two aspects. There was also a very low negative correlation between the effects of climate change on teaching and student academic performance. An action plan was proposed to address the effects of climate change on teaching and learning, including initiatives such as climate change awareness campaigns, classroom management strategies, curriculum adjustments, and infrastructure improvements in Zone 2, Schools Division of Zambales. These measures aim to equip schools and educators to handle the effects of climate change effectively and sustainably, Further studies in describing perceptions on the effects of climate change in teaching and learning may be conducted involving other variables and other locations to validate further results obtained from this study.
