Abstract

Radiologic technologists play an important role in healthcare, particularly in diagnostic imaging where accuracy and efficiency directly affect patient care. However, concerns about their overall well-being have increased, especially in terms of sleep quality, work-life balance, and job satisfaction. These factors are essential not only for the health of the professionals but also for maintaining the quality of healthcare services. This study aimed to determine the levels of sleep quality, work-life balance, and job satisfaction, and to examine the relationships among these variables among radiologic technologists in selected private hospitals in Laguna. A descriptive-correlational research design was utilized, involving 55 registered radiologic technologists selected through stratified random sampling. Data were gathered using a self-developed, validated, and pretested questionnaire with strong reliability based on Cronbach’s alpha. The collected data were analyzed using weighted mean and Pearson correlation to determine the levels of the variables and assess their relationships. The findings revealed high levels of sleep quality, work-life balance, and job satisfaction among the respondents. No significant relationship was found between sleep quality and work-life balance, nor between sleep quality and job satisfaction, while a significant relationship was observed between work-life balance and job satisfaction. These findings are supported by the study conducted by Gómez-García et al. (2024), which found that sleep quality did not significantly influence job satisfaction among healthcare professionals, suggesting that other factors may play a greater role. Similarly, Sarmad and Pakhtoonkhwa (2022) reported that individuals who are able to maintain balance between their professional and personal lives tend to experience higher job satisfaction and organizational commitment. These results suggest that work-life balance plays a more important role in influencing job satisfaction than sleep quality. Therefore, hospitals are encouraged to enhance scheduling practices, ensure fair workload distribution, and provide supportive work environments to improve employee satisfaction and overall well-being further.
