Abstract

This study aimed to determine the encountered challenges in school clustering of full-fledged administrators and focal persons where results will be a basis for plan of action. Clustering of schools was in effect by the Division Memorandum No. 145 s. 2020. However, various encountered challenges were associated to it, that, Division Memorandum 163 s. of 2021 was released to gather information relative to feedbacks and its negative effects.  This study involved nine (9) full-fledged school heads and 24 focal persons for a total of 33 respondents using total enumeration sampling technique. This was conducted at the District of Coron Inland District, Division of Palawan. Moreover, findings revealed that encountered challenges in school clustering were as follows: (1) wide array of responsibilities and distances/ geographical location of schools to be managed and monitor. (2) Improving the work motivation. (3) Keeping the entire school community clean and maintenance of the physical aspects of the school. (4) target goals and objectives of a particular program, projects and activities versus its accomplishment. (5) Consolidation of plans and other forms for cluster download. (6) Distance from the main school of clustered schools to be monitored and supervised. (7)  High expectation for higher learning outcomes of the learners, and (8) Excessive loads of functions of concerned teachers. Implications of the study were discussed and recommendations were provided.
