Abstract

The research study C.L.I.M.A.T.E.: Crop-Level IoT Monitoring and Arduino-Traced Environment for Sustainable Agriculture aims to design and evaluate, to improve nutrients added to crops, ultimately avoiding crop failures through weather monitoring. The device is able to acquire the temperature and humidity through the utilization of sensors, providing accurate data and precise weather prediction for local farmers in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon. The weather predictor offers a user-friendly interface for local farmers to easily use through IoT (Internet of Things) to monitor the readings from the device. It is cost-effective for the small-medium farmlands in agriculture by the integration of Arduino based system and IoT. The key components are its ability to provide readings such as the time duration of how many hours before the rain starts, and it changes readings when there are changes in the environmental surroundings. Moreover, suggests the amount of nutrients you should add to your crop and what nutrients are needed, such as (N) Nitrogen and (K) Potassium, and it also indicates possible rain after the time reading of the hours before the rain starts. Additionally, the device was designed to have accurate readings with the PAGASA weather prediction updates, and has been evident to provide weather predictions. Local farmers will be able to become more aware of weather updates and create informed growing of crops regarding what nutrients the crops may need, and reduce financial losses and food insecurity.
