Abstract
This study investigates the relationship of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) implementation as perceived by the parents and the participation of the learner-beneficiaries in school activities. It seeks to answer the following problems: What is the profile of the 4P’s learner-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) and their parents in terms of the learners’ sex, age, and grade level, and the parents’ occupation and educational attainment? What is the level of implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) as perceived by the parents in terms of cash assistance and livelihood program? What is the level of school participation in the school activities of the 4Ps learner-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in terms of school attendance and school activities? Is there a significant relationship between the perception of the parents on the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) implementation and the participation of the learners in school activities? The study adopted the null hypothesis: There is no significant relationship between the perception of the parents on the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) implementation and the participation of the learners in the school activities. The study used a questionnaire with a 5-point Likert scale to determine the responses of the parents and learner respondents. The statistical treatments used were frequency counts and percentages, mean and standard deviation, and Pearson Product-Moment Correlation. The study concluded that the learner-beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4P’s) respondents belonged to young ages, having the grade level of grades 1,2,3 and 4. Most of the fathers of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program beneficiaries are laborers and farmers. At the same time, most of the mothers of the learner-beneficiaries are housekeepers. In terms of educational attainment, more fathers finished their elementary level, while most of the mothers are elementary graduates. The implementation of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in terms of cash transfer and the livelihood program is at a very high level. There was a very high level of school attendance and participation in the school activities. participation in the school activities of the learner-beneficiaries. There is a significant relationship between the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) implementation and the learners' participation in school activities.
