Materials Science, the most intriguing domain of current research, involves the fundamental properties and characteristics of materials for their applications in diversified areas. We aim in the sub-project at establishing a high quality Materials Science Research Laboratory in the Department of Chemistry, University of Dhaka. To accomplish the objective, the research laboratories in the field of Materials Science will be refurbished and be equipped with state-of-the-art instruments so that the research infrastructure is significantly improved. The quality of research will be enhanced by means of collective efforts from faculty members working in the field of Materials Science through exchange of views, ideas and experiences in seminars, workshops, trainings and discussions and establish long term scientific collaborations with experts and professionals in different universities at home and abroad. New materials of various kinds and functionalities will be developed and their significant properties will be exploited for technological applications.
