Dr. Saadullah Khattak

I received my PhD degree from Henan International Joint Key Laboratory for Nuclear Protein Regulation, School of Life Sciences, Henan University China. I investigated the mechanisms and pathways of cancer development by nuclear proteins, specifically PEST family proteins. Our research focused on the role of Proteolytic signal-containing nuclear protein (PCNP) and hydrogen sulfide in cancer cell proliferation, migration, and invasion. Because the world has changed since the outbreak of COVID-19, similar unfortunate events forced the early termination of these projects, and I refocused my PhD research on COVID-19. The proverb "necessity is the mother of invention" applies well to me, as I alternatively completed my PhD in epidemiology and public health concerns related to COVID-19, with a portion of it focusing on bioinformatics approaches to decipher the heterogeneity of the same. During my PhD, I was able to publish several scientific papers in reputable journals with the assistance of my advisors. Currently I am doing Postdoc at Wenzhou Medical University, Wenzhou, China.
