Jane A. Amoguis

The researcher, Jane Amasa Amoguis was born on September 15, 1992 in Cebu City Philippines. She is the youngest among the four daughters of Alfredo A. Amasa and Lydia J. Amasa. In 2009, she enrolled at University of San Jose Recoletos located at Magallanes Street Cebu City taking up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and graduated in the year 2014. On the same year, she took a CPALE and became a Certified Public Accountant on October 2014. She had her first job as an Accountant I of the Office of the City Accountant, Cebu City Government on January 2015. While employed as an accountant, she took a part time job as a College Instructor teaching Cost Accounting at University of Southern Philippines Foundation. This does not lasted long as she enrolled herself in the year 2017 for Masters in Public Administration at the University of the Visayas. She graduated her masters degree on March 2019. As of date, she is currently in the process of her Dissertation for Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration and Governance. She is currently the Chief of Finance Section of Cebu 6th District Engineering Office, Department of Public Work and Highways and was appointed last November 2021. Before earning her position today, she was hired as Job Order Accounting Clerk II from 2016 and was promoted a regular employee with a position of Accountant II on June 2018. Her dedication to continuous learning fuels her academic work, and she is inspired by the belief that studying and refining governmental processes can lead to more effective, riskrent, and accountable systems. Ms. Amoguis’s research explores understanding and improving the ways in which governments can enhance their operations and policies through data-driven decision-making and organizational learning.
