Abstract

Parents raising learners with disabilities often experience poor psychological well-being. This study examined the mediating role of parent-to-parent support in the relationship between coping strategies and the psychological well-being of these parents. Using a predictive research design, data from (N=169) respondents selected through stratified random sampling were analyzed using mediation analysis. The results showed that the interest variable does not mediate the link between the predictor and the criterion, partially supporting the Social Support Theory. Parent-Teacher Association officers may initiate activities, such as Parent Day, for parents of children with disabilities to strengthen their bonds and exchange coping mechanisms to achieve better well-being outcomes. Explore other variables to trace the remaining 90% of the variance in the strength of the mediation.
