Abstract
The study aimed to determine the awareness level of the respondents regarding Solid Waste Management and their profiles in relation to solid waste management practices. The descriptive-correlational research method was utilized, and the Statistical tools used in the study were mean and standard deviation to identify the level of awareness and practices of solid waste management. Pearson-Product Moment Correlation, or Pearson r, was utilized to determine the significant relationship between the respondents' practices and the level of awareness of solid waste management. Findings revealed the significance of the relationship between the awareness of the students and their practices on solid waste management. It can be seen that the respondents' awareness of the solid waste management program slightly affects their practices in school on the SWM Program; we reject the null hypothesis. This means that there is a significant relationship between the practices and the awareness of the respondents on solid waste management. As a summary, it was recommended that the school's solid waste committee should conduct training and seminars about Solid Waste Management regularly for all students to provide them with enough information about SWM, and should be consistent in monitoring the students’ behavior towards the program. The School Disaster and Risk Reduction Committee (DRRM) should automatically become a member of the Solid Waste Committee. Lastly, teachers should put more emphasis on disseminating information about the importance of the Solid Waste Management program.
