Abstract
This study is a qualitative research study that used a thematic analysis approach to explore the challenges general education teachers face in implementing inclusive education. Inclusive education is a government initiative that promotes equal learning opportunities, ensuring that every child (regardless of age, gender, background, learning status, or special needs) is entirely accepted and integrated into a single classroom. The purpose of this study was to identify the specific challenges experienced by general education teachers and to determine the educational implications that could guide teachers and other stakeholders in implementing inclusive education within SPED institutions. Data were collected through qualitative methods, analyzed for core ideas, and organized into themes. The findings revealed that the primary challenges at General Santos City SPED Integrated School include teacher training, availability of teaching and learning resources, administrative support, learning disparities, and socio-economic factors. These findings suggest that teacher support, particularly from school administration, is critical to addressing the obstacles in implementing inclusive education effectively.
