Abstract

This descriptive-quantitative study aimed to determine techno-stress factors and their job performance among library professionals in the municipalities of PPALMA. Fifty respondents answered an adapted list of questionnaires consisting of academic, school, public, and special librarians from the five municipalities, namely Pikit, Pigcawayan, Alamada, Midsayap, and Aleosan. Complete enumeration was employed, and the data were analyzed using frequency, percentage, and mean. The researchers concluded that library professionals in the PPALMA municipalities experienced technostress, specifically techno-uncertainty, techno-overload, techno-complexity, techno-invasion, and techno-insecurity. The study results suggest that, despite technological changes, technology can function as a job resource within the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) model, while techno-stress factors and their effects represent job demands. Furthermore, the findings indicate that these professionals maintained effective job performance while experiencing technostress.
