Abstract

Since the first experiment of transmitting television pictures in 1926 by Scottish Baird, things have changed exponentially in the television industry. It all really started by the American Zworykin who in 1929 devised the first electronic television set. From images in black and white, we got to color televisions. A feat of new technologies, but some will predict through this encounter the television’s death. Unlike them, we see in this marriage, a new era of the television industry. This article proposes to explore the issue since the "coopetition" between television and ICT, to the current state of television, and futurists’ predictions.
