This event has important political and economic implications while still not been studied in detail. The objective of this paper is to analyze of goods records made by the Spanish consul in Amsterdam, the Dutch trade in spices in Spain as a starting point for understanding the commercial exchanges between two powers, as well as to study the Dutch distribution networks during the second half of the 17th century.
