RESUMO: Bakhtin analisou a poética de Dostoiévski não por meio de uma síntese parcial em função do discurso do escritor ou de uma de suas personagens, mas através do diálogo que deixaria de ser contingente para assumir um papel estrutural. Bakhtin, porém, não pôde demonstrarcomo a obra de Dostoiévski constituiria uma totalidade polifônica integral. Com o aporte da teoria crítica, procuraremos reaproximar a polifonia bakhtiniana da noção contraditória de totalidade por meio do método dialético. ABSTRACT: Bakhtin analyzed Dostoevsky’s poetics not by a partial synthesis in terms of the speech of the writer or one of his characters, but through the dialogue that would leave itscontingency to assume a structural role. However, Bakhtin could not demonstrate how Dostoevsky’s work would constitute an integral polyphonic totality. With the contribution from the critical theory, we will try to reapproach Bakhtin’s polyphony to the contradictorynotion of totality through the dialectical method.
