Abstract

The aim of this study is to obtain information regarding time length, areas and distances of the attack end, specific positions from which the attack end can be executed and differences in effectiveness between system 3:3 with two pivots and system 2:4. Therefore three matches of the Asobal Cup 2011 have been analyzed. This analysis leads us to obtain time values, distribution of absolute and relative frequencies, and to calculate the effectiveness coefficients: absolute success (EA), relative success (ER), absolute failure (FA) and relative failure (FR). There were no differences between average length of extreme and first line deployment circulation. Systems 3:3 with two pivots provide more options for the attack end than the System 2:4 for the first line of attack. Furthermore, with the players going to the second line, pivots get a higher attack end percentage, between six and nine meters. System 3:3 with two pivots shows a better ER and FA value than system 2:4 Keywords: offensive system, transitions, effectiveness, areas, distance, attack end.
