Abstract
This paper aims to identify the existing potential for obtaining carbon credits through projects energy cogeneration from bagasse from cane sugar. The search for their use of waste from cane sugar made arouse the interest of this sector for energy cogeneration projects, seeking a form of sustainable development, commercialization of carbon credits and environmentally correct posture, becoming a competitive advantage. The methodology used was descriptive-exploratory, seeking theoretical foundations, and also the method of case study in a sugar cane alcohol industry in the northwestern region of São Paulo. It was concluded that the implementation of cogeneration projects in agribusiness is feasible but costly and bureaucratic.
