Abstract

We developed a gesture of reading and interpreting discourses found  in academic productions, which takes the relationship between grammar and teaching as an object of reflection and study, while seeking to identify which representations of grammar and theoretical basis guide them. This is an interdisciplinary work, based on the French Discourse Analysis of Pecheux, related to the History of Linguistic Ideas, as well as Applied Linguistics. The review of the literature presents the  AD, HIL and LA concepts; what an academic production is; the history of grammar in and out of Brazil, and  its teaching process. To find such productions, we used the keywords "teaching" and "grammar", and selected four articles published within the last five years (2009-2013) on the SciELO site to make up  corpus of analysis,. For the analysis, we selected discursive sequences of the articles that presented a constant back and forth movement between the old (traditional grammar teaching; imaginary language) and the new (grammar text; fluid language). The analysis concluded that grammar teaching going through a period of rebuilding directions and adaptation of methods aiming at the transformation of this process, thus making it relevant and contextualized.
