Abstract
Brazilian political culture has always been known cause of a paradox: the support to democracy combined to a mistrust to the politicians. A research conducted at the Brasília’s Metropolitan Bus Terminal (Rodoviária de Brasília), the working class of the Brazil’s capital metropolis suffers from the same paradox which defies the Brazilian democracy consolidation: the opinion that the powers of senators and deputies could be diminished by the chief of executive. This paper analyses data of the Brasília’s research considering the direct encounters and the mediated encounters between the politicians and the working class, regarding to the main scandals that shook the Brazilian Parliament from 2003 to 2007.
