The aim of this article is to examine the conceptual nature of the transition from philosophy into theology in the consideration of the unity and meaning of history in the thought of Wolfhart Pannenberg. We want to elucidate whether Pannenberg’s movement from a philosophical into a theological perspective in his treatment of history responds to a necessity of philosophy itself or if it could be regarded as a «debt» to his theological presuppositions
