The following article presents a Reading of Novas visões do passado, by Fiama Hasse Pais Brandão, where the theme/concept of figura, which will be present throughout the following books of the author, is analyzed. This theme/concept comprehends the simulacrum in its affirmative power, per­sisting under the representation. Therefore, this work tries to show how it articulates the poetic images, the metapoetics reflexions and the writing proceedings in Novas visões do passado.
