Since the frst cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have been identifed, the search for effective drugs for
its treatment has not stopped. The most promising in the treatment of COVID-19 are antimalarial, antiretroviral
drugs and macrolide antibiotics. A common side effect for these groups of drugs is their ability to prolong the QT interval and induce paroxysms of polymorphic ventricular tachycardia torsades de pointes, especially in patients with genetic defects of ventricular myocardial repolarization. This article provides management algorithms of COVID-19 in patients with QT interval prolongation and risk of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias, developed with the support of the EurAsian Arrhythmology Association (EURA-3).
