Specifically, it measured the English proficiency of students in evaluating literary texts along structural, biographical, historical, sociocultural, and linguistic contexts before and after the use of instructional module; developed and validated the instructional module through the ADDIE model; assessed the significant difference in students’ English proficiency before and after the use of the module; assessed the effectiveness of the module in enhancing students’ performance in English 8. The sampling technique employed was total enumeration. Respondents consisted of 25 Grade 8 students from a heterogeneous class who served as the recipients of the module, while Master Teachers and English major teachers in the Lupi District acted as validators. A descriptive-comparative research design was employed.
