{"abstract":"This descriptive correlational study investigated the relationship between curriculum management practices and competencies of 30 public elementary school heads, as assessed by themselves and 210 teachers, totaling 240 respondents selected via purposive sampling. Findings indicated that school heads' curriculum management practices are evident in planning, policy implementation, instructional oversight, resource allocation, teacher professional development, and curriculum innovation. Significant divergent viewpoints were observed between school heads and teachers regarding the assessment of these practices. School heads demonstrated excellence in instructional leadership, curriculum and instructional management, human resource management, decision-making and problem-solving, and school administration and operations. Differences were also noted in how school heads and teachers rated these competency areas. A significant correlation was found between curriculum management practices and the level of competencies of public elementary school leaders. Recommendations include fostering teacher collaboration, encouraging teacher participation in professional development, engaging students in school improvement discussions, and promoting visionary leadership among school administrators.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Marivic Miranda","Jay Baylon"],"date":"2025-08-18","doi":"10.70838/pemj.450301","id":6177,"issue":3,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"b1b248d4133b073f691ccdb27a1a5a42de4e38b17b5b27a0328f4ae09fb93c3f","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Curriculum Management Practices and Competencies of Public Elementary School Heads in SOCSARGEN: Basis for Framework Development","volume":45}
