{"abstract":"This descriptive study explored the viewpoints of 60 parents in the Second Congressional District of Negros Oriental regarding their decision to enroll children in private schools, focusing on influencing factors and the relationship with parental profiles (age, socioeconomic status, educational background, and occupation). Data were collected using survey questionnaires from parents whose children attended three private schools in Amlan and Tanjay City. Analysis involved percentage, frequency, weighted mean, and chi-square tests. Most respondents were aged 35-44, had a monthly income of Php 25,001 and above, and were college graduates working as private employees. Parents strongly agreed that personalized academic attention, a safe school environment, and strong academic preparation for higher education and careers were key reasons for choosing private schools. Teacher qualifications, religious/cultural alignment, and extracurricular activities were also significant factors. The study concluded that monthly income and occupation significantly influenced parents’ school choices, while age and educational background did not. Parents prioritize private schools offering high academic standards, a secure environment, and qualified educators. Recommendations include enhancing academic programs, personalized attention, and maintaining focus on teacher qualifications and school environment.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Jesame Tag-at"],"date":"2025-07-02","doi":"10.70838/pemj.410603","id":5692,"issue":6,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"3173fda59a988837fccebe208ab154d626dad3f782a5947bfd8fe97f50fba47c","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Parents’ Viewpoint of Enrolling Learners to Private Schools: A Perspective Review","volume":41}
