{"abstract":"This study investigated the relationship between the competence of non-Indigenous People (IP) teachers and IP learners’ performance in San Fernando I and II District, SY 2024-2025. It described the profile of respondents by age, sex, position, ethnic tribe, highest educational attainment, and IP education trainings. The study determined non-IP teachers’ competency level in Cultural Competence, Pedagogical Skills, Language Proficiency, Collaborative Practices, Attitudes and Beliefs, and Professional Development, and identified learner performance. Non-IP teachers were younger, female professionals with a strong foundational education. Their competency level was Very High across all measured areas. Most learners achieved a satisfactory performance level. The study found no significant relationship between non-IP teachers’ competency level and learner performance. Recommendations include teachers utilizing their age and performance to create dynamic environments, prioritizing professional development, promoting collaboration, cultivating positive attitudes, and broadening cultural competency. Learners should strive to elevate performance by seeking assistance and active engagement. Teachers may investigate alternate pedagogical methodologies, tailored approaches, and individualized support systems to improve student outcomes.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Daryll Ela Linggan","Lutchie Ducot"],"date":"2025-06-21","doi":"10.70838/pemj.410107","id":5626,"issue":1,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"c7c6e205e55f1434eff4a670d0a216feb76c071d84865ad8db57ac37755abccf","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Competence of Non-Indigenous People Teachers in Teaching the Indigenous People Learners","volume":41}
