{"abstract":"This study qualitatively examined the contribution of instructional material to the vocabulary of eleven purposively chosen senior high school deaf (D) students at Bukidnon National High School. The research aimed to determine their current vocabulary level and describe communicative vocabulary games to improve it. The study, conducted via drive-thru education for SPED learners, combined quantitative and qualitative data analysis. The Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test, adapted from Eigsti, assessed vocabulary levels. Four communicative vocabulary games—Word Search, Picture Word Search, Picture Wordladder Game, and Pictoword Game—modified from Fahmati (2016), were developed. Results showed that deaf learners were at beginner and intermediate levels, with no students at a proficient level, indicating struggles with vocabulary. The developed communicative vocabulary games demonstrated that engaging activities enhance vocabulary acquisition. Therefore, using communicative vocabulary games can stabilize learners' vocabulary, direct instruction, and foster a positive mindset for academic success in deaf learners.","abstract_source":"gemini_shortened","authors":["Karesha Faith Cardente-Cañetan"],"date":"2023-12-04","doi":"10.5281/zenodo.10254525","id":2277,"issue":6,"journal":{"issn":"2822-4353","name":"Psychology and Education: A Multidisciplinary Journal"},"pdf_sha256":"aa2a6e3aa6f9c6cd23d5b1b59f2709f5bb5ef93d8a77a9dac5ea4b98754d96c9","schema":"scimatic-article/1","title":"Developing Communicative Vocabulary Games for Deaf Students","volume":15}
