A mixed-method, descriptive, correlational design was used, employing a survey with 253 randomly sampled Grade 10 students from a total of 829. Statistical analysis revealed a weak negative correlation between math anxiety and mathematical performance, with a Pearson coefficient of -0.058. However, with a p-value of 0.349, exceeding the 0.05 significance level, this correlation was not statistically significant. The students exhibited “quite a bit of anxiety,” with an overall weighted mean of 3.45 for math anxiety, and an average mathematical performance of 83.66.
