Abstract
This study developed and validated a Contextualized Subject-Verb Agreement (SVA) Worktext for Grade 7 learners at Colon National High School, Maasim, Sarangani Province, Philippines. Given the learners' moderate mastery of SVA rules, the worktext was designed to enhance grammar skills through localized examples, culturally relevant content, and real-life applications, making learning more engaging and meaningful. Utilizing a developmental and descriptive research design, the study involved 416 Grade 7 learners and 15 evaluators, including Language Teachers, Master Teachers, and School Administrators. A researcher-made SVA questionnaire and expert evaluations assessed the worktext's clarity, usefulness, suitability, contextualization, and presentation, achieving an overall Very High validity rating. ANOVA results indicated no significant differences in ratings among evaluators, confirming the effectiveness of the study. Further improvements in the worktext's visual presentation, interactive activities, and diverse contextual examples are recommended to enhance learner engagement, comprehension, and applicability across different student backgrounds. Future research may explore multi-institutional validation to assess its adaptability while reinforcing its role in grammar instruction, academic performance, and lifelong language learning.
