Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe and analyze the experiences of learners in Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education. The study employed a phenomenological study approach using qualitative research methods to gain an in-depth understanding of the challenges encountered by Grade 6 learners enrolled in Banisil Central Elementary School for the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) during the school year 2022-2023. Given the restricted participant pool, purposive sampling was employed. The study identified three overarching themes: experiences, coping mechanisms, and insights. The challenges experienced by learners formulated five emergent themes: remarkable experience, benefits, drawbacks, improvement, and satisfaction. The coping mechanisms utilized by learners formulated two emergent themes: support from classmates, and encouragement from parents. The insights gained by the learners in the study formed five emergent themes: religious personal development, faith and obedience, engage learning commitment, realization, and valuing religious education.
