Abstract

This study assesses the compliance status of the Student Development and Services (SDS) of La Carlota City College as a basis for program development. The research employs a descriptive-quantitative and qualitative approach, utilizing standardized instruments from the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA). Respondents included students, faculty members, and alumni who evaluated key SDS components such as Administration and Supervision, Admission, Guidance Services, Student Organizations, and Alumni Relations. Findings indicate that SDS at La Carlota City College demonstrates full compliance with good practices, with an overall mean of 3.98. Students reported the highest compliance level (4.16), followed by faculty members (3.93) and alumni (3.89). Admission and Guidance Services scored highest, indicating strong institutional support. However, statistical analysis revealed a significant difference in compliance perceptions among respondent groups, emphasizing varied awareness and engagement levels. Qualitative findings identified best practices, including effective classroom instruction, student services, and training programs. However, opportunities for improvement emerged in infrastructure, client services, and leadership training. Recommendations include increased budget allocation, facility enhancements, and expanded student support programs to achieve substantial compliance with best practices. The study underscores the importance of continuous assessment and improvement in student services to foster a holistic learning environment. Future research should explore the long-term impact of these services on student development and institutional effectiveness.
