Abstract

This study aims to explore the crucial role of parents in the school setting and investigate their perceptions, motivations, and challenges regarding their involvement in school programs. The research focused on ten parents from Binongan Elementary School, representing varying levels of parental involvement across different grade levels, as indicated in the attendance sheet. A phenomenological research approach was employed, utilizing in-depth interviews to gather data and gain insights into participants' perspectives, motivations, and challenges within the school context. The findings of the study revealed diverse parental perceptions regarding school programs, emphasizing the need for schools to engage parents in various activities to shape their outlook, perspective, and attitude towards involvement. Additionally, the study identified challenges faced by parents in their participation in school programs, highlighting multiple factors that pose difficulties for them. These findings have significant implications, underscoring the importance of addressing parental challenges and fostering a collaborative environment between parents and schools for mutual support and achievement.
