Mujeeb Ur Rahman

Mujeeb Ur Rahman, a PhD candidate at Key Laboratory of Organism, Micro-ecology and Disease control, College of Basic Medical Sciences (CBMS) Dalian Medical University, Liaoning Province, China, investigates the biological activities of food extracts in models of colitis, pneumonia, and immuno-suppression. His research examines the anti-inflammatory and immunomodulatory effects of bioactive food compounds, hypothesizing they may attenuate disease by favorably modulating microbiota and immune responses. He screens extracts for bioactive metabolites and anti-inflammatory effects in vitro. Promising extracts are evaluated in vivo utilizing mouse disease models. Outcomes assessed include disease severity, immune cell populations, and microbiome changes.
